With a career spanning over four decades, El Alaily has consistently been at the forefront of investment innovation in Egypt. He began his journey by engaging in venture capital—both through equity investments and structured lending to startups. This early involvement provided invaluable insight into the crucial role startups play in revitalizing local economies and modernizing legacy family businesses, particularly those led by the second generation.
El Alaily played a pioneering role in bridging traditional businesses with innovative ventures. He has advised numerous startups and family offices on strategy, business model refinement, pivot execution, and bespoke debt
structuring. His approach emphasizes corporate venture building as a tool to align entrepreneurial energy with institutional scale.
Today, through Investia, his work extends beyond capital deployment to include advisory services spanning strategic planning, technology integration, capital markets access, and investor engagement—regionally and internationally.
El Alaily is also the founder of the Egyptian Angel Investors Association (Malaikan-EAIA) and serves as the Honorary Consul of Malta in Egypt. He is a graduate of Alexandria University (1980) and a driving force in positioning Investia—and Egypt more broadly—as a hub for sustainable, innovation-led investment activity.
